Table of Contents

On June 24, 2026, two earthquakes of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 struck northern Venezuela just 39 seconds apart, with the epicenter in Yaracuy state. Approximately 250 buildings collapsed or were damaged, with the coastal state of La Guaira the hardest hit and declared a disaster zone. As of today, authorities report more than 1,400 deaths and over 3,000 injured. Thousands of families have been left homeless and without access to basic services. (El País)

Venezuela was already facing a deep humanitarian crisis before this disaster. These earthquakes deepen the suffering of a people who have shown extraordinary resilience for years.

Camino Alliance is responding.
