Casa Jubileo helps individuals identify and leverage untapped assets within their communities, promoting practices rooted in the biblical principle of Jubilee—offering an alternative to unjust systems that perpetuate marginalization. As part of the Jubilee Circles movement, Casa Jubileo mobilizes church volunteers and community members to foster economic self-sufficiency and spiritual development. A key component of the ministry is the Daniel Swanson Cultural Center, a vibrant hub for cultural, artistic, and ecological workshops. This center provides education in trades and crafts, while promoting creativity and skill-building. It reflects the ministry's deep commitment to sharing the love of Christ and advocating for salvation, justice, and inclusion. Casa Jubileo runs several impactful programs, such as the "Educating is also Loving" initiative, which focuses on early childhood development by serving children under six years old three times a week. Another program, "Restoring Youth," provides spiritual guidance to help teens navigate life’s challenges and strengthen family relationships. Additionally, Casa Jubileo offers monthly breakfast gatherings for the elderly, coupled with workshops tailored to their needs. Dra. Angélica Juárez de Swanson is an integral leader at the Centro Cultural Daniel Swanson, where she contributes to holistic community development through educational, artistic, and spiritual initiatives. With a medical degree from the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) and hands-on medical experience at the Lawndale Christian Health Center in Chicago, Dra. Juárez de Swanson has dedicated her career to promoting health, creativity, and spiritual transformation. Her work at the center is vital in fostering cultural awareness, ecological sustainability, and social and economic development. Aligned with the mission of Casa Jubileo, she equips individuals and families through an integrated approach that combines physical well-being, social inclusion, and spiritual transformation, making a lasting impact in her local community of San Mateo.
Funding History with Camino Alliance
Casa Jubileo received small business training and biblical teachings, as well as a $6,000 USD grant from Camino Alliance to support its poultry project aimed at improving food security and creating economic opportunities for families in extreme poverty during the pandemic in 2021. The project began with the distribution of hens and roosters to 30 families, each receiving nine hens and one rooster. The initiative reflected Casa Jubileo’s mission to show God’s love through practical support, empowering families to achieve greater food security while creating sustainable economic benefits.
